Simple. Elegant. Perfect for the season.
Deck out your holiday table with this fancy idea. Simply purchase small holiday shaped cookie cutters (which double as party favors) and tie a tag onto each with each guests’ name. Tie with ribbon or twine. Place wine glass upside down over each to create a “snowglobe” effect. Cheers!

Save time during your holiday baking this year by stenciling exquisite designs onto cookies and cakes. Stencils come in a wide variety, available at www.fancyflours.com and are simple to use and can be used time and time again!
Steps:
1. Make your favorite batch of sugar cookies or gingerbread cookies and cut into shapes that are similar to the theme of your stencils (example: for the ornament stencil, use an ornament cookie cutter). Let cool. Our favorite recipe is the No Fail Sugar Cookie recipe (listed on our website).
2. Decorate with icing of your choice. We love Royal Icing. It comes in an easy to make mix too! Let icing dry or set for approximately 1 hour. Any color food dye can be used here, as long as it is different from the color you plan on stenciling with.
3. Place stencil shape on top of cookie and carefully trace the stencil pattern onto the cookie with royal icing. In order to get the design to stay without running, the icing needs to be slightly thicker than normal; about the consistency of ketchup.
4. Lift stencil off cookie and let cookie dry until icing has hardened (overnight or 5 + hours). The cookie will not get dry as the icing locks in the moisture. Once icing is dry stack and store in an airtight container until ready to serve.

This simple poinsettia cake can be made with a few must-have items:
1. Royal Icing poinsettias in red and white.*
2. Two-color decorating bag (this lets you achieve the red/white icing look).*
3. Red Lightbulb Cake Stand Wrapper.*
*available at www.fancyflours.com
4. Your favorite cake recipe and cake stand.
Instructions:
1. Bake and cool two 8″ to 9″ cakes as instructed. Place first cake layer on cake stand and spread icing/frosting on the top. Place second layer of cake on and frost the entire cake with one single smooth layer.
2. Using two-color decorating bag, ice from top to bottom in columns going back and forth with the bag to create the layered squiggle lines (as shown in cake photo).
3. Ice top of cake in same pattern. Affix royal icing poinsettias to top of cake staggering each one, building a mound of poinsettias.
4. Affix cake stand wrapper to cake stand by sticking small pieces of double-sided stick tape to the back of each wrapper section.

These new vintage santa wafer paper designs are simply stunning. Take the work out of decorating your cookies this year and use these simple steps for wonderful wafer paper cookies. The set includes 12 edible wafer paper shapes in six different designs.
1. Make sugar cookie dough as usual.
2. Cut dough into rectangular shapes (make sure you have at least 12). We like the 3.5″ X 5.5″ cookie cutter available at Fancy Flours. It is the perfect size for these shapes.
3. Bake and cool cookies as usual.
4. Cut out wafer paper shapes with craft scissors. Be careful as wafer paper is fragile.
5. Ice each cookie with white royal icing (or other icing that dries smooth and fairly hard). Let dry.
6. Apply a thin layer of royal icing or edible clear gel (available at fancyflours.com) to the back of each wafer paper shape and affix to each cookie.
7. Flip each cookie face down onto a sheet of wax or parchment paper for 30 minutes. This will ensure the wafer paper dries flat.
8. Flip cookies over and add embellishments such as a decorative border or edible glitter for a finishing touch.
9. Store in an airtight container.
